I have to admit that the original Children of the Corn frightened me a little. I was a small child and not fond of 'little people.' Notice I typed little people and not midgets. Any who, so this is kinda weird because not only is there suppose to be a remake of the film on Sy/Fy (still not use to spelling it that way) but there's also going to be a theatrical release for another remake of the film. WTF amirite???? The remake on sy/fy will be broadcasting on September 26th.
Variety has broken the news that screenwriter Ehren Krueger (Scream 3, The Ring) has been hired by the Weinsteins to bring us the third adaptation of the tale. Weinsteins told Variety that they are looking to "Bring something new to the story". Watch it be a 3-D.

Suspiria Remake Going for 2010:
For years now I've been waiting to see what they will do with a remake on Suspiria. I was pretty upset when I first found out. Some new news on the project surfaced the net today. The latest story about the planned butchering of yet another horror classic comes from Variety. In the article (which is about things other than Suspiria–the remake news is mentioned briefly at the very end), Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino says the remake is “on track”. That’s bad news if it’s true. Here’s the exact quote:
Guadagnino also said plans are on track for his First Sun shingle to produce the long-in-gestation remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 cult hit “Suspiria.” It will be helmed by David Gordon Green with a 2010 shooting date. How do you feel about a Suspiria remake?

SyFy to show Booth Brothers Paranormal documentaries in October
September 4, 4:56 AMIndie Movie ExaminerTerra King
The Booths, Rock Stars of Indie Horror & Paranormal. Photo/BoothsThe SyFy Channel is having a great event for the whole month of October. 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN. The Booth Brothers have a premiere plus a showing of two other films.
The Brothers hit the ball out of the park with their first major film. Death Tunnel is a really good scare. Very well done. It was filmed at Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Louisville, KY. Death Tunnel will be shown October 4th at 1pm.
During filming many cast and crew members had "feelings" about the place. It's difficult to explain, however, the Booths felt a documentary about Waverly would be interesting so, they did "Spooked: The Ghosts of Waverly Hills". Waverly is considered one of the scariest places on earth. The Brothers did an amazing job of catching the feel of the empty halls, of the huge structure. They even documented the outside of the structure where "creatures" have been glimpsed from time to time.
Premiering on SyFy, "The Possessed" October 8th at 9pm. This is another paranormal documentary. It is about a well documented case of possession that happened in Watseka, Illinois. This film was the winner of the "Best Paranormal Documentary 2009", by Haunted America Tours.
Also on the 8th, right after "The Possessed" at 11pm is "Children of the Grave". This is the perfect film for SyFy's Halloween event. It's a documentary about children during the hard years of the depression, orphaned, unwanted, mistreated and sometimes just out right murdered. Many of the orphanages are still around and some are explored. The part of this film that is the most disturbing (in a delicious way) is the footage of "Zombie Road". Horrifying, because it's true, caught on tape by identical twin brothers who have an eye for the story and the talent to get in on film.
Recently, the website, Dread Central did an interview with the Booths. Sex, Ghosts, and Rock and Roll. Meet the Booth Brothers.

This is where the Devil dwells...
(The House Of The Devil)
Ti West's horror creation The House of The Devil stars A.J. Bowen, Tom Noonan, Mary Woronov,Dee Wallace, Jocelin Donahue, and Greta Gerwig. A cute young thing is entering her sophomore year in college but is in desperate need of some cash to get everything she needs so she decides to take on some baby sitting job even though there really is no baby. That right there should be the red flag that says "Something is wrong here!" So either she has lost some major brain cells from smoking pot with her pals or she just needs the cash that bad!
From writer-director Ti West comes THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, a satanic thriller set in the 1980s starring Jocelin Donahue (JT Petty’s forthcoming THE BURROWERS), indie ingénue Greta Gerwig (HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS, BAGHEAD), Tom Noonan (SNOW ANGELS, MANHUNTER), Mary Woronov (EATING RAOUL, THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), AJ Bowen (THE SIGNAL) and Dee Wallace (E.T., Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN).
Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (cult actors Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creeky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam’s best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house, and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house, but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life....

Plan 9 to be filmed....
(Plan 9 remake)
Darkstone Entertainment threw us all for a loop when last year they announced that they were going to remake Ed Wood's Plan 9.
There will be some zombies, some nods to the original flick and a odd floating thing to keep us zoomed in. It's currenty shooting on super 35mm including the teaser and plan to shoot the film itself in April of 2010. If you view the trailer below you can get an idea of where they are headed with the film. Does this seem interesting to you? Or are you just not caring?

Well they do until a super mean

Troll remake still coming our way...
The original film told of a troll king and his quest to find a ring inside a San Francisco tenement. John Carl Buechler the director is hoping he can talk some of the original characters into making some cameo appearences for the remake.
Some fans might get peeved when they find out that Torok the troll played by Phil Fondacaro, will be out of makeup this time since we are getting to see his life before he became that damn troll. I have never seen the original so I don't know if I missed out on anything special, should I check it out?

Them some weird animals...
(Humanimal)
Humanimal stars Ramón Llao, Jenny Cavallo, Sebastián Layseca, Cristobal Tapia-Montt, Felipe Avello, and Francisco Gormaz plus a few others.
Here we have a bizarre one folks where the main actors are fully dressed in ridiculous looking animal costumes and have no lines to say at all. In the story, Turtle
lives with the mean and abusive Fox. Turtle rescues Cat and then they start competing to seduce and win her over. Who will win this tug of war for love? Cat is only wanting a mate that has mostly human traits.

Here's another true story...
(Satanic Panic)
Marc Selz's Satanic Panic is inspired by true accounts and the craze that took place in the late 1970's and early 1880's.
In 1980 ten-year-old twins Toby and Cindy Richards were kidnapped by a bunch of crazed obsessed devil worshipping fools. Luckily Cindy escaped but Toby was
never found. Over 25 years later a group of friends take a canoe trip to try and get that loving friendship feeling back and come into contact with the same demented assholes that took the kids back into 1980.

This ain't your average bounty....
Bounty is brought to us from the writer/director Kevin Kangas and stars Tom Proctor, Neil Conway, John Rutland, and Demetrius Parker. Here we have a group of experienced bounty hunters that are searching for a man and when they find him they are now involved in something that none of them are prepared for. Uh oh, is he a werewolf perhaps?
Or how about a cannibalistic zombie freak? You'll have to look at the still and watch the trailer below and make your own assumptions! I don't know what to place my guess on just yet.

On the road again!
This is one road you don't want to have to take. Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Robert Duvall all will star in Director John Hillcoat's The Road. It takes place in a post apocalyptic settin when a nuclear bomb occurs and leaves the streets full of ravaging cannibalistic freaks that are dying for a chunk of your sweet flesh. A man tries to travel to safety with his son and has many bumps to overcome with these beasts on their tail. I wonder what Charlize Theron's role is, I like her.

An axe to the head gurantee's your dead!
(The Axe)
Park Chan-wook is one busy horror bee! The Thirst has barely cooled off and he's already going on his next film titled The Axe. The film plans to shoot in New York and Lee Gyeong-Mi is writing the script.
In it a middle aged, middle class man is out of a job when the company is forced to down size. So after spending the next two long years downsizing his life, he decides to keep himself above all of his competitors by chopping down anyone who threatens his place. I guess people better think twice before messing with him.
