THE FOURTH KIND TO END SCREAMFEST 2009
Milla Jovovich's The Fourth Kind will be the last film to be screened at ScreamFest this year before it's official release on November 6th.
Just in case all you Milla fans were curious to know what this thriller is about. Set in modern-day Nome, Alask, this story involves an ongoing unsolved mystery, where one town has seen an incredible number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up since the truth has never been revealed. How "the fourth kind" is determined is when a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document ... until now. Dr. Abigail Tyler (Jovovich), is a psychologist who recorded sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.

PARAMOUNT THROWS AWAY THE IDEA OF REMAKING 'PARANORMAL ACTIVITY':
You heard it right guys. Paramount has decided that because so many people are disgusted with the amount of overbearing remakes to havee out recently and nothing original, they have chosen to scrap the project all together since it was more terrifying than anything they could do with a buttload of money.
From Variety:
The producer of the film, Steve Schneider is quoted as saying "DreamWorks, under Paramount, bought it with the intention of remaking it with the original director. We had test screenings built into the deal, so we could discern what needed to be redone in the remake. But the movie tested so well, they decided that it would be the height of folly to remake a mock-doc-type film with unknown actors."
As of right now, there's no details as to when this will be released to theaters.
Synopsis:
TRICK-OR-TREAT! It's Halloween day in the quiet rural community of
Haddonfield, Illinois. Judith Myers and her best friend D'arcy Mims are
planning a Halloween night campout at The Myers House with their friends.
Judith is trying to forget the growing tensions in her family and wants to
immerse herself in a carefree celebration, but her reclusive brother's
presence casts an ominous shadow over their cheerful preparations.
This short film breaths life into an often overlooked character from John
Carpenter's HALLOWEEN - Judith Myers may have only had a short appearance
in the classic film, but she nevertheless played a crucial role in the
forming of the Michael Myers story. Director Josh Hasty (A Mannequin in
Static) and writer Kenny Caperton (the creator of The Myers House NC) join
forces to reinvent a classic character in an original new story.
CAST:
• Lydia Chandler (Dismal) ........ Judith Myers
• Alex Fisher (The Strangers) ........ Michael Myers
• Barbara Weetman (The Notebook) ........ Deborah Myers
• Ana Gilmore (A Mannequin In Static) ........ D'arcy Mims

True Blood Finale Round-Up:
The season finale is almost here folks. You can check it out Sunday. I am pretty excited about it. It's the only decent horror show on television at the moment in my eyes at least. Well be careful when reading this because it contains spoilers. True Blood Net has bunched up interviews with the cast and here's what the actors have to say about it.....
# Stephen Moyer tells People magazine, “It’s everything that you would want from a season finale. But I don’t even want to make a hint at something because it’s so f–ing crazy. I could tell you something that’s going to happen, but you just won’t believe me, so it’s almost pointless.” Maybe the theory that the egg actually is a dinosaur egg isn’t so outlandish after all?
# Michelle Forbes doesn’t hold back when she tells E! “F–k awards! That’s not where the glory is. The glory is in the audience,” she adds. ”That’s who we tell the stories for. It’s not for, with all due respect, the critics and not for the awards shows, but for the audience.” Right on! Meanwhile, True Blood fans can let our voices be heard on Emmy Sunday by voting for the show as Breakthrough Performance of the Year.
# Kristin Bauer reveals to EW’s PopWatch that she will not be in the season finale, but speculates on lots of good possibilities for season three (Jessica/Pam?), gives a spoiler for Book 10, and much, much more. Seriously, the entire interview is quotable, so just go read it for yourselves.
# Ryan Kwanten gives a tiny glimpse into the season finale for MSNBC, “Well, I think it’s to be expected that those two worlds — that Sookie world and the Maryann world — have to collide. And uh, obviously things aren’t going to end well for one of them.”
# Sam Trammell agrees with Ryan, telling People magazine, “You can expect a major character — I’m not going to give it a way and say if someone dies or not — but there’s somebody that’s in major, big, big trouble. Also, I’ll say it’s going to be very surprising and it’s going to set up some cliffhangers for next year.”
# Sam also talked to Bullz-Eye, telling them, “Yeah, as far as Sam opening up again to a woman, that’s gonna be tough.” Thanks a LOT, Daphne.
# Newsweek profiles Alexander Skarsgard, calling his Eric “a little bit Gordon Gekko from Wall Street (he’s so mean) mixed with a little Mr. Darcy (he’s so misunderstood).” Well that explains a lot.
# Alan Ball teases season three for TV Squad: “Everybody is struggling with identity in season three – What am I? Who am I? What is my life? Is it what I want it to be? How do I make it what I want it to be? What are my real values? And some people are like, “Am I human? I always thought I was, but maybe I was wrong.” In one particular case, its like, “Yes, honey, you were wrong.”" YES!

Vampire Diaries Most Watched CW Premier:
It would appear that The Vampire Diaries holds the record of highest amount of viewers ever on a premier for the CW channel. What the hell is going on? How does this show beat out the monstrous amounts of Buffy viewers? I did watch The Vampire Diaries and I am not going to say it was horrible, in fact it wasn't horrible but it's no where near as good as Buffy. The acting alone is a whole lot better and well at least Buffy was a horroredy and not a vampiric melodrama. Who knows, I only saw one episode. It could be much more. I found myself getting a tad bored and I am not big on the romantic stuff. It's nothing like Buffy and it's like True Blood only rated PG. So if you're 14 and a female you're going to love it. If you enjoyed Twilight, you're going to enjoy The Vampire Diaries. You can also expect all the main stream music 14-40 year old girls enjoy like Katy Perry and The Fray. Here's what THR had to say about the show.....
“The Vampire Diaries” — the CW’s last best hope for a new fall show to deliver a breakout number — delivered.”Diaries” (4.8 million viewers, 2.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) is the CW’s most-watched series premiere ever.
Among the adult demo, it’s the CW’s best series debut rating since last fall’s “90210.”
On a side note after I watched the premier I watched the first half of Supernatural. This show is a lot better than I thought. I thought it was for a teenage audience as most CW's programs are. I must catch up on Supernatural and so should you.

Derek Mears Confirms Rumor is False:
We already know by now that Tim Sylvia is NOT going to be the next Jason. Further confirmationes from Derek Mears himself as a staff reporter for Horror Bid myspaced him and Mears replied with, "The rumor is false. I am happy you dug the new film. Hope you have a great weekend."
We should go ahead and put this rumor to bed now. Also, when asked about returning as Jason Mears replies with, "Being that the film hasn't been green lighted they can't officially offer any roles. I'd like to return, so cross your fingers." So I guess it isn't set if Mears is returning as Jason but I do remember reporting earlier this week that the creators denied the rumors and expressed feelings about not wanting to use anyone else but Mears. So there you go
