WHO: ROBERT NOEL GIFFORD
MOVIE: "THE WISHING BOX"
1) WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW MOVIE, THE WISHING BOX?
THE WISHING BOX is about a 1000 year old box that contains the black stones of the sorceress Cozara. Cozara ( Stella Kim ) using dark magic imprisoned hundreds of wicked tormented souls in the stones, believing it would give them the power to grant any wish, but she soon learned she was wrong. That the dark souls she trapped in the stones had a hunger for human blood and carnage. Unable to control the evil she created, she placed the stones in a wooden box crafted from the tree of life and buried it deep in the earth and there the evil slept. Now a thousand years later, the box and stones untouched by time have been found and anyone foolish enough to open the box will have only one wish, they will wish for death.
Now I don’t want to give away the movie, but it is made up of 4 stories of different people who get the box and open it and all hell breaks loose.

2)DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL FAVORITE SCENE IN THE MOVIE?
My favorite scene in the film is when Richie (Phil Lewis) begins to loose his mind while under the influence of the stones. The reason I think this is my favorite scene is because Phil (Lewis) made this character into such an insane lunatic , with the craziest and most disturbing eyes I have ever seen . Phil made the character of Richie into one very scary and sick figure in the film. Phil was great as was everyone in the film.
3)HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO SHOOT THE WISHING BOX?
The film took a little over 4 months to shoot, only because there were so many people in the film and they came from a lot of different states. Since the film is divided up into 4 mini stories about the box. I filmed one story a month instead of having everyone come at once. That would have been true madness (LOL) It took a little longer to film then most films, but filming in this way made every shoot go very smooth.

4)WHERE WAS “THE WISHING BOX” FILMED?
Around 80% was filmed all over Long Island and the other 20% in New York City.
5)IS THE BUDGET EVER AN OBSTACLE WHEN FILMING YOUR MOVIES/THIS MOVIE?
I think budget is always an obstacle in any film big or small. I normally will figure out a budget for a film And then double it, this has always worked out for me in my films. Always better to have more then what you need then to run short.

6)WHAT’S YOU OPINION ON HOW MANY TAKES NEED TO BE DONE TO GET A SCENE RIGHT?
I will always shoot ever scene 3 times even if everyone of them comes out perfect, but it mostly takes more then that to get it just right. The best piece of advice I could ever give to this question is never rush any scene and take as long as it takes to get it right.

7)DO YOU HAVE ANY COOL BEHIND THE SCENES STORIES THAT HAPPENED DURING THE FILMING OF “THE WISHING BOX”?
Most of the stories are bloopers (LOL) which are always on the DVD in the special features and trust me with the amount of people in this film there are some really funny bloopers. Everything from not being able to open a laptop to talking boobs (LOL)
8)WHAT’S YOUR OPINION ON USING NUDITY IN HORROR MOVIES? AND IS THAT EVER DIFFICULT OR UNCOMFORTABLE TO DIRECT?
I truly feel that nudity and horror movies since the 80’s go hand and hand now. Even horror TV show’s such as SUPERNATURAL and BLADE push it to the limit with what they can show. The whole thing with nude scenes is they have to be done with care. To many low budget films just have the girl take off her clothes and dance around and show it all from one or if your lucky two camera angles. In my films I always lead up to the reason for the nudity and take great care in filming it, from many different angles and since everyone in my films is a professional it is never uncomfortable to film. Because everyone knows their jobs and wants to get the scene right and the best it can possible be.

9)WHERE CAN SOMEONE GO TO PURCHASE “THE WISHING BOX”?
At this time I am in talks with 2 distribution company’s for the rights to distribute the film, but my films can always be found and purchased on my website on the ONLINE STORE.

10)WHAT’S NEXT FOR ROBERT NOEL GIFFORD?
I just want to continue to make horror films that hopefully people will continue to enjoy and also continue to work with the most talented people in the field. I truly think that the cast of THE WISHING BOX are among the most talented and skilled people I have ever worked with. Everyone gave 100% and more to help create a great film. I look forward to working with all of them again in the future.
